President Donald Trump revealed on Sunday that he has invited the family of a National Guard member fatally shot last week to visit the presidential home.

He noted that he contacted her family and they were “devastated”.

US army specialist Beckstrom, 20, was lost her life in a violent incident on last Wednesday in DC.

Her fellow service member, Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, is still in the hospital in critical condition.

Memorials across West Virginia have taken place in their honor.

Presidential Offer

The commander-in-chief explained he’s talked about a White House visit for the parents of both individuals of the West Virginia Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a difficult moment, arrive at the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” Trump informed the press. “And likewise with Andrew, recover or not.”

Community Support

Attendees came together over the past few days at Webster County high school in the state to pay respects to Sarah.

Both they had been working with the military unit as part of the president’s national effort to support policing efforts in Washington DC.

Honoring the Soldier

“She was the individual that educators wished for. She conducted herself with calm resilience, a bright grin and a optimistic attitude that encouraged people around her,” Hankins, the principal of Beckstrom’s previous school, told the media. “She was sweet, considerate and always eager to support those in need.”

Funeral details for Beckstrom are yet to be finalized.

Legal Actions and Government Adjustments

Officials have charged a twenty-nine-year-old suspect with one count of homicide and two counts of violent assault while carrying a weapon.

The incident prompted the government to halt refugee claims and halt issuing entry permits to possessors of travel documents.

Status of Andrew Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a resident of the city, enlisted in early 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of his local high school, per the Associated Press.

He remains under medical supervision and is “in a critical fight”, West Virginia leader Morrisey mentioned on television.

The state’s top lawyer Pam Bondi informed Fox News Sunday that she aimed to visit Wolfe’s family.

Impact of Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from Summersville, graduated from her high school in June 2023 and began her service not long after, working as a MP with distinction, as stated by the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of goodness and she certainly had courage,” the governor informed the gathering at the service. “Though her time lasted far too short, she has left a mark that’s going to be remembered always.”
