FC Barcelona to Host Inaugural Game at Partially Completed Camp Nou over the weekend

The club confirmed their first game will take place at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou over the weekend. They will welcome the Bilbao team in the Spanish league 30 months after they moved out so building work could begin.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity but 45,401 spectators will be allowed to watch as per the current authorization. Once fully finished, it will accommodate over 104,000 attendees, a rise from the old capacity. The club said completed upgrades featured an updated entryway for the team plus modern locker rooms.

Stadium Testing

The club conducted a fan-accessible workout on the home pitch in early November. They mentioned approval is being pursued from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture facing Eintracht next month at the stadium. Their recent games have been held at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
